Es Fiel Ein Reif

Project for exhibition hall Atrium at Moravian Gallery in Brno. Series of 11 paintings of three kinds - geometrical images, texts and clouds. As a text part of the concept I collected several inscriptions from a gravestones of old cemeteries in and around my hometown Rumburk which lays in northern Bohemia on the border with Germany. As this area used to be settled by German population until the end of 2nd world war, these inscriptions represent reflections of many aspects. The general human's attempt to face up to death revealed in the specific cultural context, the end of the German cultural phenomenon in this part of land itself, the political issues which raised and are still open.
